The new Rai course begins: Sergio new ad. Oppositions against Salvini on the Fazio case

There will no longer be Fazio or even Littizzetto, new faces will arrive – the Porros, the Gilettis say the rumors -, differently oriented and closer to the centre-right majority. But above all, this morning the new CEO was officially appointed, Robert Sergio. It starts from here, from the decision of today’s Shareholders’ Meeting and from the subsequent ratification of the Board of Directors, the new Rai course. After the farewell of Carlo FuortesSergio, who will remain in office for a year, will in fact lead the bandwagon of public television “pro tempore”. He will be joined by Giampaolo Rossi, a man who enjoys the trust of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in the role of general manager. It was Sergio himself who indicated this appointment, together with that of Paola Marchesini who will instead lead the staff of the CEO.

With the inauguration of the new top management, the reorganization of the company comes to life, after the resignation – and the accusations, the rebuttals between the majority and the opposition – last week by the managing director Carlo Fuortes. A story that continues to produce aftermath, even in the Rai board of directors, where the climate is certainly not serene. Councilor Francesca Bria, Pd area, voted against Sergio’s appointment. While Alessandro Di Majo, expression of the M5s, abstained. An early pick from Joseph Conte interviewed by La Stampa: “If I were in your place, I would suspend judgment while waiting for a better understanding of the new guidelines”. So she went.

In the same conversation, the former prime minister argued against the influence of politics on Rai. “I launch an appeal to the majority and opposition forces. But a Minister cannot talk like this”. Of the same sign also the reactions of Antonio Misiani and Simona Malpezzi. On the grillino front, according to Giuseppe Conte, the secretary of the Carroccio would have done better “not to express himself on individuals so as not to give the impression that the government to which he belongs resorts to censorship”.

“There are no men for all seasons”, Fazio himself explained later in the evening, avoiding fueling further instrumental controversy between the parties. Rather, he thanked public television – “In some ways, Rai and I are the same thing” – and recalled his journey on Viale Mazzini, where he arrived at the age of eighteen. “I am not a martyr or a victim, we will have the opportunity to continue our work serenely elsewhere”.
