Let’s start with the World Cup. For football lovers (myself included, from the couch, I’m afraid) the recent World Cup was an exhibition of superb football and an exciting competition full of surprises. Euphoria and disappointments abounded. Think, just to give an example, of the Moroccan team, the “Lions of the Atlas” who have rightly earned the respect and admiration of millions of people glued to the TV. Another proof, if any were needed, that there is much more to football than football.
