The recent visit of the Minister of Security of Israel, Itamar Ben-Gvir, to the Esplanade of the mosques, with the predictable angry reactions of the Arab-Muslim world and the usual “appeals for prudence” from fearful Western chancelleries, made the political dispute highly topical -religious on the Jewishness of Jerusalem.
