The manager, today in Padua, had a discussion with a fan unhappy with the transfer market after the draw with Juventus Under 23: shoving and a forbidden blow before a steward intervened. Then he goes to the police station and reports that he has been subjected to a verbal assault

There was great tension in the stands of the Euganeo stadium in Padua at the end of the match against Juventus Under 23, valid for group A of series C and finished 1-1 on Saturday 14 January. Protagonists the sporting director of the red and whites,
Massimiliano Mirabelli (former manager of Inter and Milan
with the Rossoneri at the time of the presidency of the Chinese Yonghong Li) and a Padova fan.

Everything would have started from a sentence from the Padova supporter who, having opened the door of one of the TV boxes from where the sporting director was watching the match, would have contested his work: What the f… team did you make. The tones would have immediately risen and the discussion would have resulted in shoving and at least one forbidden hit when Mirabelli tried to leave the box. The dispute was settled thanks to the intervention of a steward and then of the police.

Mirabelli, 53, manager of Padova since January 2022. After the episode he went to the Police Headquarters to report having suffered a verbal assault for which, feeling threatened, he pushed the fan. The reconstruction of the latter is different, who instead recounted having received a punch in the head from the sporting director, for which he would have gone to the hospital with the reservation of suing Mirabelli (disputed with some chants by Padova supporters). The police are investigating the episode and are investigating the events that took place in the West Tribune.

Standings in hand, in group A of series C the red and white are far from the top positions, but only one point from the playoffs for B (the teams that finish in the three groups from second to tenth place plus the winner of the Italian Cup qualify category): they are in 11 position with 29 points from seven wins, eight draws and seven defeats.
