The College of Guarantee pushes Perugia and Brescia into Serie B: excluding Lecco and Reggina

The Coni guarantee college redesigns the B series: excluding Reggina and Lecco, readmitted Brescia and Perugia. At the end of today’s hearing session, on Monday, the section chaired by Tammaro Maiello “accepted, in accordance with the reasons given”, the appeal presented by Perugia against the FIGC, Lega di B and against Lecco for “the cancellation of the Federation’s official press release” relating to the “consequent admission” of the Lombard club to the next Serie B championship. Instead, it considered the one presented by Foggia, against Lecco itself, and that of Reggina, “in part inadmissible and in part unfounded”, whose appeal was instead declared “in part inadmissible and in part unfounded”.

Reggina’s appeal rejected, Brescia readmitted to Serie B

The Calabrian company had appealed against the decision of Covisoc, which charged it with the non-payment of some emoluments, such as, in particular, the last three months’ wages for the players, as well as the last 5 months of INPS and the last 4 of Irpef, which they had already resulted in a penalty last season. In its place, therefore, on 28 July, Brescia will be revived which, in the calendar drawn up last week, will take the place of the ‘X’.

Now the ball passes first to the TAR and then to the State Council

The reasons for the sentence will be published by Thursday. In Lecco and Reggina now all that remains is to appeal to the Tar, which should issue its sentence on 2 August. The last word, possibly, will be up to the Council of State on August 29 when, theoretically, the B championship should have already restarted. If the request of one or both of the two clubs were to be accepted, there would be a supernumerary readmission. Finally, the Board of Guarantee also rejected Siena’s appeal against exclusion from the next Serie C.
