Matilde is 82 years old, she has been a widow for ten and by now she has the impression that time is running fast. So too the holiday season it seems to come faster every year, with changing traditions. Meanwhile, the two older grandchildren have become teenagers, and there is little Joy, who is 5 years old and comes from Mali. This is the context of the Christmas story that Alessandra Sarchi wrote exclusively for the “La Lettura” app. A story in three episodes, one a day, from Saturday 24 December to Monday 26 December, in the digital edition of the insert, with illustrations by Angelo Ruta.

Alessandra Sarchi (Reggio Emilia, 1971), art historian and translatorbegan with the stories of Subtle and clandestine signs (Diabasis, 2008). For Einaudi Stile libero has published four novels of which the most recent is Antonia’s gift (2020). Last February you also published the short story collection by minimum fax Get out of here. Open to experimenting with new languages, she is also the author of the podcast Lives! created by Storielibere.fm and the Piccolo Teatro di Milano in collaboration with the «Corriere della Sera». And now comes the story for the «La Lettura» app.

The digital edition of the supplement, for smartphones and tablets, offers a preview of the most recent issue on Saturdays and the entire archive of releases from 2011 to today, which can be searched with an advanced search engine, as well as digital-only extras: daily the Theme of the day and periodically special contents such as Christmas stories.
