The 106th Giro d’Italia may seem, to those who skim the route quickly, a rather lenient race with the riders compared to the recent past: it starts with a time trial without great altitude difficulties, you reach the first mountain only in the seventh stage. But looking at the structure of the last few days, the mix between unknown climbs and sacred monsters, both very tough, and the grand finale with a time trial on a Friulian mountain as mysterious as it is severe (the Lussari) it becomes clear that winning the pink race but also getting to the finish line this year will be a real feat as always.
