Tennis, Sinner knocked out with Medvedev in the quarterfinals in Vienna

The journey of Jannik Sinner at the ATP 500 in Vienna (fast indoor), Austria. The 21-year-old South Tyrolean, world number 12 and seeded number 6, was beaten in two sets by the Russian Daniil Medvedev, 4th in the ATP ranking and first favorite of the board, who won 6-4 6-2 in just over an hour and a half of play. Medvedev confirms himself as a taboo for Jannik, who has always lost in four comparisons with the 26-year-old from Moscow. A knockout that practically puts an end to Sinner’s race for the ATP Finals in Turin.

Medvedev did not concede break points and took advantage of Sinner’s many mistakes (19). In the first set the Russian broke the serve from the blue at the start of the match, keeping the advantage up to 6-4. In the second Jannik came out slowly from the match, he suffered the break first in the third game and then in the seventh, giving the green light to Medvedev who closed at the first match point. In the semifinal the Russian will face the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov who beat the American Marcos Giron 6-3 4-6 6-4.
