The magistrate heard the admission of guilt: Passari was standing at the door of an uber vehicle when Kyrgios actually pushed her to the ground. The woman, who reported having pain in her shoulder and a graze on her knee, had not reported the incident for 10 months, making up her mind only at the time of separation from the tennis player.
“I am grateful to the court for dismissing the charges without conviction – wrote Kyrgios on Instagram – I was not myself when it happened and I reacted to a difficult situation in a way that I deeply regret. I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused. Mental health is tough. Life can seem overwhelming. But I’ve found that getting help and working on myself has allowed me to feel better and better.”
