Sport on TV: summer signed by Sky

Basketball, volleyball, swimming, athletics, as well as obviously engines (Formula One and MotoGP) and tennis: an intense summer of sport is expected for Sky, to the point that starting from Sunday 11 June the Sky Sport Uno channel at number 201 will temporarily change its name and become Sky Sport Summer.

After top-level football with the Champions League final on Saturday 10 June, albeit with an addendum to the following weekend under the banner of the Nations League, it is the other sports disciplines that characterize the pay TV schedules for three months.

In mid-June, the women’s basketball European Championship begins with Lino Lardo’s Italy on the parquet between Israel and Slovenia, for volleyball, Fefè De Giorgi’s Azzurri will be the protagonists between June and July (final stage in Gdansk from 19 to 23) at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League while for the same competition the girls holding the trophy are called to defend it from tomorrow until the finals in mid-July.

Staying in July, the appointment from the 14th with the Swimming World Championships scheduled in Japan, the same period of course for water polo and diving. The Fencing World Championships in Milan on the bill from the 22nd complete July.

In August the World Athletics Championships stand out on the calendar from the 19th in Budapest, the basketball World Cup with Pozzecco’s Italy on the parquet from the 25th.

The Wimbledon Open stands out on the tennis billboard, the so-called “normal programming” includes the NBA finals as well as the start of the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue1 championships in mid-August.

Sky Sport Summer is completed by the original productions with Federico Buffa conversing with Filippo Tortu and the ever-present “Calciomercato – The original” on air from 5 June and soon to become itinerant.
