Spezia, Bari and Under 20: it’s time for Esposito – Calcio

And then the smallest, Francis Piusnot yet of age, is the revelation of Italy under 20, engaged on Thursday in the semifinal of the World Cup against South Korea. And whatever happens, Sunday evening all three Espositos risk being on the pitch at the same time.

Salvatore’s growth

Starting from Salvatore, the eldest of the three brothers, although still very young having been born in October 2000, plays in midfield and grew up in the Inter youth team. He cut his teeth in Serie B first with Chievo in the 2019/20 season, then for two and a half years with Spal, before the springboard to the top flight, when in January Spezia bet on him by paying out 3, 5 million euros. Semplici handed him the keys to the midfield and on 13 May the first goal in Serie A also arrived, with an extraordinary free-kick in Spezia-Milan, sealing the 2-0 for the eagles.

Sebastian’s ransom

2019/20 season, Inter challenged Genoa at San Siro, with a penalty kick awarded for the Nerazzurri on a 2-0 score. If Italy under 20 is surprising everyone in the World Cup underway in Argentina, where the semifinal against South Korea is scheduled for Thursday, Francesco Pio Esposito also has a pinch of merit, the youngest of the three footballing brothers and not yet of age, having been born on 28 June 2005. Raised in the Inter youth team like Salvatore and Sebastiano, the very young striker became a regular for coach Nunziata and left everyone speechless with his back-heeled goal against Colombia in the quarter-finals . Even for him the doors of football that counts have officially opened wide.

Everybody out on Sunday

Whatever happens, Sunday 11 June will be historic for the Esposito family because all three brothers will probably be on the field at the same time. Spezia-Verona is in fact scheduled at 20:45, shortly before (at 20:30) the second leg final against Cagliari will be played at San Nicola di Bari, while Italy U20 will play either the final of the world tournament or the “finalina” for third place. For the Esposito parents, four eyes probably won’t be enough.
