Serie B: Ternana and Sudtirol hook the fifth place, Cosenza takes back Benevento

Heavy victories for Ternana and Sudtirol in the postponements of the 20th day of Serie B: two 1-0 wins, respectively against Ascoli and Brescia, which allow the two teams to hook Pisa at an altitude of 29 points in fifth place. At the back, however, Benevento let themselves be restarted in the 89th minute (1-1) in Cosenza and they missed the opportunity to move away from the relegation zone.

It is certainly more convenient for Cannavaro’s team who have to lick their wounds for the missed opportunity in the final minutes. The Samnites unlocked the match in the 31st minute with a penalty from Ciano, granted for a naive handball by Martino on a cross by the Benevento playmaker himself. Cosenza didn’t seem to have the strength to react, but in the final they found unexpected energy and caught the equalizer with Vaisanen, who deflected Merola’s splash into D’Urso’s corner at the far post.
