Frosinone-Venice 3-0

Frosinone beat Venice 3-0 and conquered another three precious points in their solitary march to the top of the standings. The first fraction is dominated by the hosts, who find the advantage in the 15th minute thanks to a splendid throw-in action: Insigne serves vertically for Mulattieri who takes advantage of an uncovered lagoon defense and flies towards the goal, creating with a powerful right who beats Joronen. In the 29th minute it was Insigne who came close to scoring after a personal action in the right lane, as did Caso in the final half, with a serve from the edge that skims the top corner. At the start of the second half, Frosinone immediately doubled their lead: on a raise from Lucioni, Ceppitelli misdirected and involuntarily launched Caso who only appeared in front of goal, signing his seventh center of the season. A few minutes go by and Mulattieri signs the trio by placing a precise assist from Oyono on the net from the right. On the pitch there are practically only the Ciociari and Case after the umpteenth restart hits a sensational post.

Serie B, Parma beats Reggina and returns to the play-off area. Equal between Pisa and Palermo

Ascoli-Bari 0-1

Ascoli fell 1-0 at home against
Bari after having shown the best first half of the season and recriminating for some refereeing decisions. Galletti good at making the most of Falasco’s expulsion and Cheddira’s penalty. The bianconeri immediately start strong and come close to scoring first with a counterattack by Mendes (18′) and then with a great shot by Caligara (36′) which Caprile deflects for a corner. In the middle, in the 25th minute, Abisso first concedes a penalty for a touch of the hand by Molina in the area on Giovane’s cross, but then reconsiders after the call from the Var. In the 42nd minute, Ascoli’s match effectively ends. Falasco, already cautioned, gets kicked out for an entry into Molina. For the bianconeri the light goes out and in the 46th minute Botteghin extends Cheddira in the area which he then converts from the penalty spot. In the second half Breda relies on Forte, Marsura and Dionisi, but the pressing of the hosts is sterile. Bari met again in the 66th minute with Cheddira flying in front of Leali after an incorrect back pass by Donati. Ascoli’s defense is saved in some way. In the 73rd minute Leali saves from Scheidler (assist Cheddira) who shoots at the goalkeeper a few steps away from goal. In full recovery, Ascoli recriminated for a penalty foul by Zuzek on Dionisi.

Sudtirol-Perugia 2-1

Sudtirol imposes itself by a 2-1 win against a strong-willed and not very concrete Perugia and continues its dream in the upper areas of the standings. The initial boarding of the hosts brings the first jolt in the 7th minute with the post hit by Odogwu. Perugia replies with a low shot from Iannoni which, in the 12th minute, has no effect. Sudtirol masters the field but the goal defended by Gori risks nothing. In the 22nd minute, the full-back from Perugia had no problem blocking Odogwu’s trajectory, and a minute later he stood still on his legs as he observed Mazzocchi’s cross crossing which ends not far from the post. In the 25th minute Mazzocchi made no mistake when he sent the ball into the high seven, thwarting the goalkeeper’s flight. In the 43rd minute Celli intervenes on Oliveri who ends up on the ground, for the referee it’s a penalty. Casasola displaces Poluzzi from the spot and scores the equalizer. In the second half Sudtirol tries to squeeze the opponents in their own half, and in the 59th minute Rover warms up Gori’s gloves with a blow from outside the box. Sudtirol took the lead again in the 66th minute: Fiordilino’s cross was deflected onto the crossbar by Curado, the tapin was from Curto who mocked Gori. Casasola gives him the thrill in the 89th minute when, on Poluzzi’s awkward exit, he directs centrally and Curto saves on the goal line.

Ternana-Benevento 2-2

Ternana and Benevento take one point each which at least serves to move the standings. At “Liberati” everything happens in the first half. Red-green advantage with Mantovani scoring his first league goal after 7′. In the 20th minute Acampora equalized with a shot from distance while in the 32nd minute it was Coulibaly who brought forward the Fere who were reached before the interval by Tello’s header. In the second half Ternana hit three woodwork with Martella, Letizia (nearly own goal) and Diakité in the final.

Brescia-Cagliari 1-1

A vigorous Brescia is not enough to return to victory: the 1-1 draw with Cagliari displeases both teams. Little or nothing happens in the first half, while in the second half the match lights up in the 66th minute when Huard lands Luvumbo in the penalty area. Lapadula transforms without difficulty. In the 78th minute the hosts equalized with Bisoli, good at picking up an assist from Ayè with a header. For the Lombards it was a return to scoring after 689 minutes.

Spal-Cittadella 2-1

Four and a half months later (last success on 22 October last year 5-0 against Cosenza) Spal returns to success in front of its fans by beating Cittadella 2-1 and gaining three precious points in the fight for salvation. Spal took the lead in the 40th minute with a goal scored by the Greek Fetfatzidis, able to take advantage of an assist from Prati and beat Kastrati with a precise diagonal. In the second half, Spal defended itself and the center of gravity moved back too much thus giving way to the Citadel to appear more insistently in the Ferrara area with Magrassi, who headed a sensational ball-goal and sent it wide. Spal doubled their lead in the 27th minute of the second half with a precise shot by Prati from the height of the penalty spot. The Venetians returned to the game thirteen minutes from the end when the referee awarded a penalty that Ambrosino converted. Final with the guests besieging the blue-and-white area, but the Estensi are not in particular danger.

Como-Modena 1-0

A very important victory for Como, which reaches mid-table by hooking up against Modena, in their third consecutive defeat. Cerri’s header, who had just entered the field in the second half, decided. A post on each side in the first fraction, by Gabrielloni in the 17th minute and Falcinelli in the 39th minute. There had also been a goal disallowed against Como in the first half, after a consultation with the Var, Gabrielloni, who had adjusted the ball with his hand before shooting. Even the decisive goal was analyzed before being validated due to a doubt about Cerri’s position, which was later found to be regular. Throughout the second half, Modena looked for an equaliser, but Como held on.
