The assembly of Serie A clubs convened to evaluate the new offers from Dazn, Sky and Mediaset for the broadcasting rights of the championship in the three-year period 2024 ended without a decision at the Lega Serie A headquarters in via Rosellini in Milan /2027.

Private negotiations continue

The meeting, which was attended by representatives of all 20 clubs, ended without a verdict and private negotiations will continue. “Nothing has been decided, but things are looking good. We didn’t talk about numbers. We will continue with private negotiations. We will update in a new assembly, perhaps on July 14th,” said Carlo Rossi, president of Sassuolo, the first to leave the League.

Offers close to the minimum threshold

In theory, the assembly could have decided to open the envelopes containing the offers from six subjects to create the Lega Channel, but it did not do so. Evidently the offers of the three operators, all together, are approaching the minimum economic threshold that the club assembly has set as a minimum objective. There is time until 2 August to accept offers from operators.

Casini: “Postponement decided unanimously”

Lorenzo Casini, president of the League, declared: “The managing director informed the assembly on the progress of the private negotiations. Since the work is very intense, the meeting unanimously decided to grant an extension. At the end of this new round of negotiations, it will be decided whether to entrust the TV rights or whether to open the envelopes”
