managed to overcome the consequences twice a malignant tumor in the testicles, he fought fear, but now there is light – and what a wonderful light – at the bottom of that gloomy dark tunnel in which his life ended. Sebastian Haller with his splendid smile he returns to the field to train with Borussia Dortmund and has an unthinkable goal until a few weeks ago: to return to the field on January 22nd in the match against Augsburg. And the most beautiful victory of the Franco-Ivorian striker and of the German club.

Haller arrived in the Bundesliga last summer to replace a champion like Haaland, meanwhile sold in the Premier League, to Manchester City. Paid €31m by Ajax, he seemed destined for a dazzling career, but within weeks of joining his new club, he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his testicles. Haller then immediately underwent chemotherapy, ending up under the knife. A situation that created some controversy in Germany. For example, Klaus-Peter Dieckmann, medical director at the Hamburg cancer centre, expressed his surprise that the disease had not been diagnosed at the time of the medical examinations prior to his move to Dortmund. The fact is that Haller’s rehabilitation seemed to be going well, so much so that in mid-August the attacker returned to training, as evidenced by a post on social networks by his wife Priscilla. The return to the field thus took place on October 25, but he let it be known that although I have a recovery plan in mind, I might also have to undergo another operation. Depends on how extensive the tumor is. If I don’t have to operate again, I think that in two-three weeks I could resume training with Dortmund. Instead, Haller went back under the knife, but didn’t break down, and continued to work to recover quickly.

I love him because he is a lion, said his wife Priscilla. Now everything seems to be behind us. And the attacker now wants to return to play, to the point that the managers and technical staff of Dortmund have to stop him. But the return must be gradual: he has a great desire to go back to training with the team – said sporting director Kehl -. We are very happy for him and can’t wait to have him back. And he: I can’t wait to play in front of you and the yellow wall.
