The Supersmart offer

The Supersmart offer allows you to set aside, in whole or in part, the sums deposited in your Libretto Smart, choosing from the durations made available from time to time depending on the offer in progress. For this reason it can be assimilated to an unrestricted time deposit and the sums set aside benefit from a higher remuneration than the base rate of the passbook itself which is recognized upon expiry of the provision.

The Supersmart Premium offer is available until 5 July 2023, dedicated to all Libretto Smart holders who bring new liquidity to Poste Italiane. It has a duration of 300 days and makes it possible to obtain a rate of 3.00% gross per annum on the amounts set aside if brought to maturity, while free amounts are remunerated at the “base rate”, equal to 0.001% gross per annum.

The sums that increase the new liquidity balance are those made, on the postal current account or on the Smart booklet/other booklet, starting from 19 May 2023 exclusively through the following methods: bank transfer directly to the Smart booklet or on the postal current account and subsequently on the Smart booklet exclusively through girofund; payment of bank and cashier’s checks; crediting salaries and pensions. The minimum amount of each provision is equal to 1,000 euros, which can be increased by multiples of 50 euros.

The gross annual interest rate of the 360-day offer is equal to 1.50%, if brought to maturity, while the free sums on the Libretto Smart are always remunerated at the “base rate”, equal to 0.001% gross per annum .

Postal bonds

These instruments always guarantee the return of the invested capital and the holder can request the repayment of the capital plus any accrued interest at any time. It is also possible to invest even small sums and there are no issue, management and redemption costs, except for tax charges. The withholding tax is 12.50% and the vouchers are exempt from inheritance tax.

The vouchers can be subscribed for in denominations of 50 euros and multiples and the maximum amount that can be subscribed, by a single person on the same working day, at one or more post offices and/or by electronic subscription, is equal to 1,000,000 euros. .

In this case there are different types provided. Short-term investments can be arranged, starting from 3 years, but also medium and long-term subscriptions.
