Sampdoria, ultras protest against Ferrero, board of directors underway for the Radrizzani-Corriere.it offer

Delicate hours. At Sampdoria there is chaos as regards the future of the club, which never seems to hang by a very thin thread as in these days. Thousands of Sampdoria fans gathered at Corte Lambruschini, the club’s official headquarters, to make their voices heard during the meeting of the board of directors. He had arrived in the morning
an official press release signed by the Manfredi-Radrizzani duo, interested in taking over the club
which he claimed as the club’s current majority shareholder, i.e Massimo Ferrero, would have refused their offer.

An offer whose details are unknown, but Ferrero’s apparent “no” was enough to unleash the Sampdoria fans who met around 6pm and will go on until the meeting ends.

Present at the meeting – as a small shareholder of Sampdoria – Alessandro Barnaba, a Roman financier who has been closely following corporate events for some time: “We have been working on this operation for six months – said Barnaba before entering the Lambruschini Court -, we have always had the rescue of Sampdoria at heart. For us, before, the project was to keep it in Serie A. Now it’s to bring it back to the top category as soon as possible. I don’t know the details of the other operation that was chosen (it refers precisely to that of Manfredi and Radrizzani, who agreed with the board of directors for a capital increase, ed), but I hope to have them this evening: if it is a serious and solid project we will vote in favour, if it does not go ahead we will continue to monitor the situation. We’d be happy for the good of Sampdoria, even if we weren’t chosen.”

On the deadlines hanging over the club, Barnabas added: «Time was wasted. Among our investors there are people who have the good of Sampdoria and its fans at heart, now let’s try to understand but we are here. Radrizzani doesn’t need us and we don’t need him: cooperation isn’t necessary.”
