Finally comforting news arrives regarding the health conditions of Roman Kostomarov. The former Olympic skating champion, hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a Moscow hospital,
he had to face the amputation of his feet and some fingers
for the severe consequences of a very bad bilateral pneumonia, remedied in January in a training undertaken at low temperatures despite the fever. In the last few hours Kostomarov has made friends smile with a simple voice message: They’re fixing me. Will be back to you guys soonthe joke of the Russian, who thus responded to a motivational video shot by the people closest to him for birthday wishes (he turned 46 on 8 February).

The long rehabilitation and the difficult moments

The former champion is therefore trying to react, struggling with a difficult rehabilitation process. The first phase was terrible, made up of uncertainties, fears, anxieties and a lot of anger, complete with aggression against his wife
who never left him alone: The situation started to improve, is the comment of his friends, who thus confirm what may seem like a turning point in the long journey that awaits Kostomarov. The latter does not want to give up after the amputation of body parts now considered irrecoverable following hospitalization.
