The writer and screenwriter, author of Gomorra and La paranza dei bambini, together with Alessandro Rak, Filippo Bologna and Stefano Piedimonte will sign the direction of the animated film Sono ancora vivo (I’m still alive), a project that it will be presented at Cartoon Movie in Bordeauxan international showcase of the most interesting animation works in progress. Saviano, author of the script, supported by the Israeli cartoonist Asah Hanuk, one of the authors of the award-winning Waltz with Bashir, talks about himself and rattles off his life, starting from when he was a student, then became a journalist and writer, up to his sentence to a life under escort, for fifteen years.


International co-production

A boy who grew up in a land where, in a handful of years, the Camorra killed 4000 people – Saviano himself declares – and the sentence comes to that boy because he decided to write what he sees around him. Here you are. That boy is me. “I’m still alive” the film with which I decided to bring back to the screen what I have experienced up to now. The animated work is an international co-production with Belgium, Israel, with Andrea Occhipinti’s Lucky Red and Luciano Stella and Maria Carolina Terzi’s Mad Entertainment, producers of the award-winning L’arte della felicit and Gatta Cenerentola and of the ecological tale of Yaka and Lennie – The walking liberty. We fell in love with Roberto Saviano’s graphic novel and we set up an international co-production that will be followed, in all the steps, by Ivan Cappiello and Mario Addis, says Stella. an ambitious project that has already aroused the interest of distributors from various parts of the world. The film will hit theaters in two years and will be mostly made in Naples. Saviano is literally a hero of our times and his story is incredible, concludes Andrea Occhipinti, guro of Lucky Red.
