Referees, Carlo Pacifici new president Aia – Calcio

Charles Pacifici is the new president of the Italian Referees Association, elected with 260 votes out of 310 voters in the General Assembly held today in the Coverciano auditorium. Sole candidate, happens to Alfredo Trentalange, who had resigned from the position of president following the affair involving the former chief prosecutor of the arbitrations Rosario D’Onofrio. Alberto Zaroli is the new vice president. “Heartfelt thanks to those who voted for me and also to those who didn’t vote for me, that’s the beauty of democracy: starting tomorrow I will be everyone’s president, no one excluded” Pacifici said after the election. “From tomorrow we will roll up our sleeves for the good, the interest and the future of our association”.

Before the vote, the president of the FIGC spoke Gabriel Gravina who thanked “everyone for having steered one of the reference institutions of our federal world. I take this opportunity to confirm, despite the errors in the exercise of his duties in the D’Onofrio affair, the respect for Alfredo Trentalange who with his resignation he has shown a great sense of attachment and responsibility towards the entire refereeing class and for the whole world of football”.
