Record receipts for the Italians in the European cups

For the first time in history indeed Serie A takes five teams to the semi-finals of major European competitionsincluding two in the most prestigious one: the Euroderby between Inter and Milan will thus certainly bring at least one Italian woman to the final for the first time since 2016/17, when Real Madrid defeated Juventus.

On an economic level, for the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri to have reached the penultimate act in Europe is worth respectively 82 and 85 million euros, a record fee for both in the Champions League. A figure that rises to almost 300 million considering also the takings of Napoli (78 million) and Juventus (53 million, to which the Juventus club will also add the revenues from the Europa League). Considering the fact that an Italian will surely be in the final, for our teams the total revenues will rise to around 315 million: Never in recent history have Serie A clubs collected so much from participating in the Champions League. The previous record, in fact, was the 251 million aggregate in the 2018/19 season, while among the other nations there are those who have also done much better like the English again in 2018/19 (399 million euros overall) or the Spanish in 2021/22 (€418 million). Numbers that will allow Italian teams to exceed 3 billion in revenue collected in the Champions League from 2001 to today, with the usual Spanish (over 3.5 billion) and English (over 4 billion) leaders.

The results in the current season, moreover, also gave one important push in terms of UEFA ranking where Italy extends the gap to fifth place (four qualify by right for the Champions League group stage), but also to overtake Germany in the standings.
