Piazza di Siena, the German Andre Thieme- Corriere.it wins

The key race of the Capitoline horse show was in fact won by the German Andre Thieme with DSP Chakaria (pen. 0/0; 42.64), reigning European champion for having conquered the gold in Riesenbeck in 2021, right on the saddle of this sorrel female from 13 years. Germany thus rises to twelve successes in the Roman GP, ​​obtained with eleven different riders (Franke Sloothaak is the only one to double, in 1995 and 1996).

For 48-year-old Thieme this was the first participation in Italy and consequently the first at the CSIO in Piazza di Siena. Thanks to today’s victory, Andre Thieme was also awarded the special Master d’Inzeo 2023 prize. In the decisive heat which saw thirteen competitors on the field, the podium was completed by the Swede Jens Fredricson, second with Markan Cosmopolit (pen. 0/0; 45.18), and by the Brazilian Stephan de Freitas Barcha, third with Chevaux Primavera Montana Impero Egipcio (pen. 0/0; 47.46). Two Italians landed in the second route: eighth place for Emanuele Gaudiano with Chalou (pen. 0/8; 43.08) and ninth for Francesca Ciriesi with Cape Coral (pen. 4/4, 43.50).
