On 18 July it will be possible to book a stay at the home of the creator of the Games for only 24 euros: on 26 July those who sleep at Mirville Castle will meet the history of Sport

It’s a year and two weeks away Inaugural ceremony of Paris 2024 (July 26-August 11) but whoever wanted to experience the climate of the Olympics could already do so in a very special place: the childhood home of Baron Pierre de Coubertin — founder of the modern Games — been transformed into lodgings on AirBnB to offer guests a journey through time.

Next July 18th – 374 days after the brazier is lit – in fact, two people will have the opportunity to book a one night stay what will happen exactly one year after the opening ceremony, on the 26th. The two lucky ones will be able to immerse themselves in the history of the Olympics by staying at Chteau de Mirville, a residence dating back to the 16th century and one of the stops on the route of the Olympic torch: it was the baron’s first home. The price? Absolutely symbolic: 24 euros (plus tourist taxes).

In Mirville De Coubertin developed his love for sportclaims his great-grandson Jacques de Navacelle, who in two weeks will welcome his guests and share with them stories and anecdotes about how the castle has brought,
in 1892, to the writing of the Olympic manifesto and the history of Sport as we know it
. Furthermore, it will be possible to face the best French tennis player, Caroline Garciaon exclusive grass pitches (which were the scene of one of the first tennis matches in France, it is said).

The pier where De Coubertin discovered his love for rowing. A picnic on the grass is a must.
