Paris 2024 Olympics, the headquarters of the Organizing Committee – Corriere.it searched

On Tuesday morning some searches in the headquarters of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee
(Cojo) and other Olympic-related venues, including the company in charge of building the infrastructure Olympic (Solideo). The announcement was made by the National Financial Attorney (Pnf) of Paris.

According to France Info, the search is underway following a complaint filed by some workers engaged in construction sites for the works under construction. The magistrates explained that the searches are carried out within the two preliminary investigations launched in 2017 and 2022 on suspicion of illegal hiring and favouritism. Both concern contracts awarded as part of the organization of the Games.

In particular, ten African workers allegedly worked without documents on the construction sites of the Paris 2024 Olympics and have taken several construction giants to court, asking among other things for the “recognition” of their work. Four construction companies and eight related subcontracting companies are targeted. In particular, the agents are in the headquarters of Solideo, a company that has to deliver several Olympic works to the organization

contracted out. The inspectors of the Afa – French anti-corruption agency – considered that the general procedure relating to purchases is “imprecise and incomplete”, and underlined that there are “sometimes situations of potential conflict of interest that are not controlled”. Even the contracting company, Solideo, assures that it “fully cooperates” with the police in “transmitting the requested elements”.

This morning the Committee announced that a search was underway at its headquarters in Saint-Denis without specifying what it was investigating. Fourteen months from the 2024 Olympic Games – 402 days to go, the start is scheduled for July 26 – explains that he is “cooperating fully with the investigators to facilitate their investigations”.
