Paolo Barelli, the suspension is extended by a year

Another year of suspension after the two already inflicted: it is the decision taken by the finishthe international swimming federation, against Paolo Barelli. The independent ethics committee of the former Fina has in fact investigated “multiple allegations of wrongdoing” against the president of the Italian Swimming Federation, a former member of the Fina executive and former president Len (from two legislatures deputy of Forza Italia): the accusations were of having received “improper payments” and not having reported “personal interests”. Barelli had been suspended until 14 September 2024, now the stop is extended to 2025 and will last until he has returned the disputed figures to World Aquatics.
