“The National Anti-Doping Prosecutor informs that Mr. Nicholas James Pontius (Fidal member) a 1-year disqualification was applied for the violation of article 2.4 of the CSA, with effect of the sanction from 04/20/2023 and expiring on 04/19/2024″. With these few lines Nado Italy communicated the duration of Nick Ponzio’s disqualification, giving an explanation to the cryptic messages launched by the Italian-American in recent weeks. Before him, with a video posted on his social channels, he had told of “being pushed away from athletics”. Then, ten days ago, the clarification: “I missed three anti-doping controls, but it’s not my fault”. And whose, then?
