NAPLES – The scudetto was secured and this was the most important objective for Napoli to achieve, which thanks to the three golden points won in Lecce guaranteed the possibility of putting the championship in the background at the right moment, with the corner the double challenge of the quarterfinals of the Champions League with Milan. At least from a psychological point of view, the Azzurri will therefore be able to present themselves for the first round on Wednesday evening (9.00 pm) at San Siro in ideal conditions, after having – almost – sewn the Italian title onto their chests 9 days in advance and above all after waiting for 33 years. All that is needed to start the party is mathematics and from now on the priority will therefore be for the great international limelight, on which Luciano Spalletti and his players will be able to concentrate their best energies without further worries.

But the good news for Napoli stops there, because the effort to secure the Scudetto has been considerable and has entailed a heavy price to pay. In fact, in the last few races the championship leader appeared a bit tired and Spalletti must have had the same feeling, who immediately reduced the workloads for his group on his return to Castel Volturno. Normal session only for the second lines, while the owners employed in Lecce trained more lightly in the gym. Tomorrow, on the other hand, it was decided for everyone to even have a day off, to allow the Azzurri to spend Easter with their families and above all to catch their breath, even if the match against Milan looms around the corner. The priority is obviously another: to unplug for a few hours, to recover the psychophysical energies in view of the Champions League.
