Musetti, good first time in Marrakech: he’s in the quarterfinals, Vavassori ahead too

Winning debut for Lorenzo Musetti at the “Grand Prix Hassan II”, ATP 250 with a prize money of 562,815 euros which is being held on the clay courts of Marrakesh, in Morocco. Promoted directly to the second round as the tournament’s number one seed, the 21-year-old Tuscan, world number 21, beat the Frenchman Hugo Gaston, 104 in the ranking, with a score of 6-2 6-3. In the quarterfinals Musetti, chasing the relaunch after exiting the scene in the first round in the Indian Wells and Miami Masters, will face the winner of the match between Francesco Passaro and the French Alexandre Muller.

Vavassori saves two match points and advances

Promoted to the quarterfinals, the first in his career in a tournament on the major circuit, too Andrea Vavassori.
