Motogp: in Holland Bezzecchi wins the sprint race on Bagnaia

The challenge between Bezzecchi and Bagnaia reignited in Assen, first in qualifying and then in the sprint race. On both occasions it was Marco who got the better of Pecco: in the morning he took the pole position and in the afternoon the victory in the short race. The world champion had burned him at the start, but after 4 laps the Bez took the lead again and lap after lap he overcame Bagnaia’s resistance. A few tenths, which however served him to cross the finish line without problems.
«I felt great on the bike, I had a good pace and I had so much fun recovering» said Bezzecchi, in his first victory in Saturday’s race. All in all, Bagnaia was not too disappointed, extending the standings over Martin (now he’s +21 over Martin: «I tried to stay close to Bez, but I was struggling a bit too much. For tomorrow we’ll have to try something different» his comment .
Fabio Quartararo surprisingly took the third step of the podium. Brad Binder had preceded him under the checkered flag, but the Australian was penalized by 3 seconds for going out of bounds on the last lap. Thus the South African of Ktm was relegated to 5th place (also behind Aleix Espargaró’s Aprilia) and the Frenchman of Yamaha was able to celebrate after a very difficult race following a foot injury while training running on foot in Amsterdam in recent days .
Luca Marini, who started from 3rd place, was also penalized by half a second for cutting the last corner (thus completing an all-Ducati front row that was missing from last year’s Mugello GP). The VR46 rider dropped to 10th place in the standings, preceded by Martin, Viñales, Bastianini and Alex Marquez, who arrived in order from 6th to 9th position.
Another day to forget for Marc Marquez. In qualifying, due to a distraction, he collided with Bastianini, in the race he did not go beyond 17th place (the same from which he started).
