Saturday opens with the third free practice session: Moto3 (3.35pm), Moto2 (4.20pm). Then it’s up to the MotoGP: FP3 at 17:05, qualifying – which counts for the grids of both races – at 17:45. Then qualifying for Moto3 (7.45pm) and Moto 2 (8.40pm). The MotoGP sprint race will start at 10pm and will also be visible on TV8.

From 360 to 70 kmh per hour, all the secrets of the circuit
It’s a track that alternates high speeds with notable decelerations, because in a couple of points you go well above 300 but in 4 corners you go under 70 kmh. Twenty bends, 11 lefts, one 1.2km straight. According to the Brembo technicians, who supply the braking systems to all the riders, of the 11 braking sections at the Circuit of the Americas there are 4 considered highly demanding for the brakes, 2 of medium difficulty and the remaining 5 are easier. The toughest of all is the one at turn 12: the bikes approach 360 km/h and brake for 6.4 seconds along 316 meters to drop to 66 km/h. F1 also races in Austin, taking almost 29 seconds less to complete a lap. The MotoGP brakes are in operation for 36 seconds per session, those of the single-seaters for less than half, not even 17 seconds, thanks to the possibility of discharging the braking power on the four wheels.
