Moody's ranks Atlantia among the world leaders in sustainability

New recognition in terms of sustainability for Atlantia. Moody’s included the Italian company in the range “Advanced”which includes 1% of the nearly 5 thousand companies analyzed with the better performance on the Esg frontacronym used to indicate entrepreneurial strategies focused on the environment, social inclusion and good governance rules. Atlantia it also ranks among the three best performing companies on the ESG front in the transport sector.

Analysts report that the Italian holding company has registered improvements on the environmental and social sustainability frontof the business model, as well as for the performances achieved and for the quality of governance.

The recognition of Moody’s it follows those that arrived in recent months from other rating agencies and index organizers. Among others, Atlantia has in fact achieved leadership positions also for MSCI ESG ratings (AA – industry leader), FTSE4Good (best 5% in the industry), Iss Quality Score (highest level on all ESG aspects), Refinitiv (best 3% in the industry), Sustainalytics (maximum level equal to Neible Esg risk) e Glio / Gresb index (maximum rating level, A). In 2022, the company was also included for the first time in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Indexthanks to the constant commitment to gender equality issues.

Commitment against climate change

Atlantia has been a pioneer in Italy as regards the transparent planning of initiatives to combat climate change, submitting its decarbonization plan (the so-called “Say on Climate”) to the vote of the shareholders, which aims to eliminate direct CO2 emissions by 2040. The approval percentage of the plan has exceeded 98%, an absolute consensus among the highest recorded in the European assemblies that expressed themselves, in the same period, on the same issue. The commitment to transparency and accountability was also recently confirmed by the independent organization “Fair Tax Foundation” – which granted Atlantia, the first company in Italy to obtain it, accreditation at the highest level (Gold) for the responsible tax conduct of the company. Recognition also by the “Transparency International” association, which has included the holding in its Business Integrity Forum, at the end of an in-depth investigation.
