The Austrians have arrived. But also the Norwegians and Japanese. Some superpowers in the world of winter sports are taking their first steps: Austria, Germany, Canada, Great Britain, Finland, Norway and Japan, nations placed among the top sixteen in the Beijing 2022 medal table plus the British who won gold and silver in curling in teams.
In the first visit they went on the safe side: Anterselva, cradle of the Italian biathlon, headquarters of the World Cup and the World Cup used for years to welcome crowds of enthusiasts who arrive above all from Germany and the Nordic countries. Then Cortina, which has just lent a hand at the Ski World Cup by also hosting the men’s races, after the classic girls’ weekend. Bormio (alpine skiing), Livigno (freestyle and snowboarding), Val Di Fiemme (cross country) will follow, which, together with Milan, from 6 to 22 February 2026, will see the best Olympic and Paralympic winter athletes in the world compete.
