Maturity 2023, here are the subjects of the second test: Latin to the classic and Mathematics to the scientific

Latin at the Classical High School, Mathematics at the Scientific High School, Business Economics for the Technical Institutes of the Economic Sector with the “Administration, Finance and Marketing” specialization, Design, construction and systems for the “Construction, Environment and Territory” specialization. Here are the disciplines chosen for the second written test of the 2023 high school diploma based on the decree signed by the Minister of Education and Merit Joseph Vallettara.

How the exam works

For the rest, the state exam returns to the past, after three school years in which the maturity has seen significant changes due to the epidemiological emergency: a first written test in Italian, common to all study courses, which will take place from 8.30 on Wednesday 21 June 2023; a second written test, concerning the disciplines characterizing the individual study programmes; the interview, which aims to ascertain the achievement of the student’s educational, cultural and professional profile. During the interview, the candidate will also explain the experiences carried out in the context of the courses for transversal skills and orientation (Pcto) and the skills acquired in the field of civic education. The third test is foreseen only in some fields of study (sections EsaBac, EsaBac techno, sections with an international option, schools in the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and schools with a Slovenian teaching language and Slovenian/Italian bilinguals of Friuli-Venezia Giulia).

Examination commissions are made up of an external president, three external members and three internal members of the educational institution.

What are the subjects for all addresses

For high schools, the subjects of the second test therefore include Latin for the classical high school; mathematics for science, also for the applied sciences option and the sports section; foreign language and culture 1 for linguistics; human sciences for the high school of human sciences (law and political economy at the socio-economic option); design disciplines characteristic of the single addresses for the artistic high school; theory, analysis and composition for music high school; dance techniques for the coreutic high school.

For technical institutes Business Administration for the “administration, finance and marketing” specialization; business economics and geo-politics in the articulation of “international relations for marketing” and tourist and business disciplines for tourism; design, construction and systems for the “construction, environment and territory” area, for “computer science and telecommunications”, information technology and telecommunications for the respective areas; multimedia design in the “graphics and communication” area; vegetable productions for agricultural addresses, oenology for the articulation “viticulture and oenology”.

For food science and culture professional institutes for the specialization ‘food and wine and hotel hospitality services’, food and wine organization, law and administrative techniques of the accommodation structure in the tourist hospitality sector; professional techniques of commercial services for the ‘commercial services’ branch; production and organization techniques for the ‘industrial and artisanal productions’ branch, industry branch.
