”For six months our life has been turned upside down: my son Alessandro has type 1 diabetes, an incurable, chronic and degenerative disease”. It is the dramatic announcement of Massimo Ambrosinia former Milan footballer with whom he collected 489 appearances and 12 trophies, who with a touching video on social media made public the pathology of his third almost three-year-old son.
Ambrosini: ”Insulin injections every day”
Once his boots hung up, Ambrosini made himself appreciated as a television commentator, first on Sky Sport, then for Dazn and Amazon Prime. The former midfielder talks about the difficult moment: ”Unfortunately, this disease is not seen, but it can have very serious consequences,’ he said, referring to little Alessandro’s diabetes. My wife Laura and I are forced to monitor her blood sugar and give insulin injections several times a day”.
Milan Matathon for Research
Ambrosini then announced that he will participate in the “Milan Marathon“, scheduled for Sunday 2 April, to support Research, currently the only hope of recovery for one’s child. ”Me, my daughter and the 200,000 people who have this disease want a definitive solution to be reached. For this reason, together with three former teammates, I will participate in the marathon to support the Italian Diabetes Foundation”. And then the appeal: “Support us with a donation: help us and research run faster. Go to the Gift Network and support our relay team called Born to Run. Together we can and must find a cure for this disease”.
