At 19.07, the organization of the Tour of Switzerland issued a statement: “At km 197 of the race, on the Albulapass descent, two riders fell at great speed. The race doctor reached the crash site within two minutes. Magnus Sheffield was conscious. He was transported to Samedan hospital with bruises and a concussion. Gino Mäder was unconscious in the water. He was immediately revived and then airlifted to hospital in Chur. An update on his condition will be released as soon as possible.
