Inter, Inzaghi: “I’m disappointed, we got nervous”

“We got nervous. It’s the third defeat in front of our fans and this certainly hurts, even considering the many points lost.” Simone Inzaghi is embittered at the end of the derby lost against Monza. “A mature team must have more malice and always remain focused,” she underlines. “We played a match similar to those against Fiorentina and Salernitana. The disappointment is very strong, even if we’ve done our best in these two and a half days to prepare for this match. As I see it, we worked very well, then clearly things went differently, with a very heavy defeat.”

Inzaghi: “We didn’t deserve to lose the last three league games”

Inter seem to have two faces: they shine in the cups while in the league they struggle to find continuity. Inzaghi disagrees: “We need to be rational in analyzing results, because performance also counts. We didn’t deserve to lose the last three championship races given what we produced, but that’s how it went now. We are a little behind on the Champions League goal, but we still have 8 games to recover. At one point I tried to change something in the starting line-up, without changing things up, as I did in Salerno. We need to improve on individual episodes, because they are the ones that make the difference if exploited”.

Inzaghi: “If we score too little, it’s my responsibility”

The team seems to have difficulties in attack: “For 16 months we were the best attack in Italy”, replies the Nerazzurri coach. “Now, it’s true, we score very little. The only solution is hard work, which the whole team always does with great conviction. In this type of speech, however, the mea culpa must be done because if we score few goals, the first responsibility is mine”.
