Until 18 June in Milan there is the Ice Festival. In summer, not a blunder. In fact, not real ice but synthetic, but little changes. Because it is the ideal terrain for the growth of the new generations of athletes who may one day win medals at the Winter Olympics. Like Amos Mosaner, protagonist in Beijing 2022 with Stefania Constantini, the golden couple of curling. He too is at the Ice Camp 2023 promoted by the Italian Ice Sports Federation (among the projects for children and adolescents financed by Sport e Salute), an initiative designed to involve young people and introduce them to figure skating, ice hockey, speed, curling and stock sports as well as the exciting Paralympic disciplines of para ice hockey and wheelchair curling.

An area of ​​3000 square meters in total with a 30x15m rink, three curling rinks, a hockey goal and three areas dedicated to street hockey, stock sports and preparatory exercises for figure skating. Over the weekend, the entire area will be open to the public with free entry subject to availability. More than 40 great Italian champions will also be present at the initiative: from the Olympic medal-winning short track teams led by Pietro Sighel to the vice world dance champions Guignard-Fabbri,

The Idroscalo will be the first event of this type and we have chosen the Metropolitan City of Milan and Lombardy with the conviction of attracting a large number of enthusiasts, explained the president of Federghiaccio Andrea Gios-. The goal is to bring many kids to fall in love with our sports so that they decide to practice them assiduously.

Participation in the camp, aimed mainly at girls and boys from primary and secondary schools, is totally free. Participants will be given all the technical material needed to try out the various disciplines in the open air (helmets, balaclavas, skates…) and only sports clothing will be required (shorts, t-shirt and cap).
