Here is the electricity and gas tariff for the home that saves the sea from waste

When we hear about the catastrophic damage linked to marine plastic pollution, or when we see the images of the Plastic Vortex, the gigantic islands of plastic that pollute the oceans (the largest, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, is almost six times the size of Great Britain), in addition to the anger at the carelessness shown by human beings throughout recent history, we feel frustrated and helpless: what can we do, in our small way, to change the course of events? What means do we have at our disposal to counter this destruction of such gigantic proportions? An answer has been launched by Duferco Energia, a company founded in 2010 in Genoa with the aim of managing the Duferco Group’s plants used for the production of energy from renewable sources, but which soon broadened its focus, also specializing in the sale of electricity and gas for all market segments.

Thanks to the collaboration with Ogyre, a startup that recovers plastic at sea thanks to fishermen with the aim of creating a virtuous and economically sustainable circle to clean up our waters, Blue Planet was born, the electricity and gas tariff for the home that saves the sea ​​from waste. This bill, designed for domestic users and which can be subscribed online in a few minutes, allows you to make a concrete commitment to protect the sea and the environment. Indeed, in one year of supply, each customer will have the possibility of eliminating one kg of waste from the sea, supporting the daily work of the Ogyre fishermen with a symbolic contribution of one euro per month, not hidden among fixed costs. The message is clear: the recovery of marine litter must be a shared commitment, a mission to be undertaken together.

“We want everyone to feel that they are protagonists of this choice of sustainability, together with us who support the recovery of many tons of waste from the sea”, commented Luca Masini, Sales Director of Duferco Energia. “With Ogyre we have found a common vision, together we have made a concrete commitment in favor of the sea and sustainability: we also seek this commitment in those who choose us as a supplier of electricity and gas, in the hope that safeguarding the sea will become an objective common”.

The contribution of one euro per month in the bill will be requested only for the first year of supply, the customer will be issued a certification not only of the recovery of the kilo of plastic, but also of the regular disposal. Just log in with your credentials directly on the Ogyre platform. “Marine pollution is a problem of crucial importance for everyone – said Antonio Augeri and Andrea Faldella, founders of Ogyre – and having a partner like Duferco Energia at our side to make our oceans cleaner allows us to get ever closer to the goal of collecting 350 tons of waste by the end of 2023”.

Already in the first year alone, 4,000 tons of waste were removed from the sea thanks to the project. The partnership with Ogyre confirms Duferco Energia’s commitment to sustainability and the environment. For years, in fact, the company has been involved in the energy transition process, not only through projects related to the production of renewable energy, energy efficiency and electric mobility, but also by accompanying its customers towards conscious, shared and sustainable.
