“Great Expectations,” a new Dickensian adaptation from the creator of “Peaky Blinders”

One of the most read and adapted works of the Charles Dickens bibliography returns to be talked about with a new television version. “Great Expectations” will be a coming-of-age story, probably a little more evil than the original given that Steven Knight, the creator of “Peaky Blinders” is at the helm of the project, joined by Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott in the role of producers executive as already for the series “Taboo” of 2017. With an Oscar winner in the cast, the show promises great things and will be available only on Disney+ starting June 28.
