On June 16, 2023, Gino Mader, who crashed into a ravine the day before during a stage of the Tour of Switzerland, died. The 26-year-old Swiss cyclist had gone off the road on the descent of the Albula Pass, in the Canton of Grisons, together with an opponent who fortunately didn’t have serious consequences. At that point, 100 km per hour were also reached and the Bahraini runner flew off the road. Immediately rescued, revived on the spot and transported to hospital, died the following day.
