On the stage of the Toledo Gallery, directed by Laura Angiulli, comes the short circuit of History. Irreverent, sarcastic, dismissive and explosive. On stage from tomorrow 29 November to 1 December at 8.30 pm REVOLUTION by and with Manuele Morgese, directed by Rolando Macrini, assistant director Sara Iaccarella. Soundtrack by Rasmus Zschoch and Rolando Macrini (Teatrozeta production in collaboration with La MaMa experimental theater – Umbria International).
REVOLUTION is the staging of a historical, irreverent, sarcastic, contemptuous and explosive short circuit. It is a courageous and ruthless stance on the world, or a subtle farce, a mocking commedia dell'arte, a caustic and enigmatic 'board game'. There are two stories proposed that intertwine almost in the form of a shocking mise en abyme: the myth of the extraordinary popular revolution of Masaniello (Tommaso Aniello, 1622 - 1647) an Italian fisherman, who becomes the leader of a popular revolt against the Habsburgs of Spain in Naples in 1647 and the powerful Russian revolution of 1917 which this year marks the centenary. The latter, we recall, decreed the end of a secular empire, such as the Russian Empire, generated two revolutions, determined the birth of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (Union of Soviet SocialistRepublics, the Soviet Union) and inaugurated the era of communism, irrevocably changing the course of the history of Russia and the whole world.
