The track, which can be downloaded for free from the site, bears the signature of Alberto Conte, an “artist” specializing in the design of tracks for long-distance cycle trips. Among other things, we owe him the traces of the Via Francigena and Aida (Upper Italy to be crossed) from Moncenisio to Trieste.
“While waiting for the Tyrrhenian cycle route, which will take a few years to complete, we have meanwhile drawn up a coastal route”, observes Conte, who with his Itineraria has coordinated for the Region, through Toscana Promozione, the Atlas of cycling routes, a network of 10 thousand kilometers (15 thousand within the year).
The itinerary, if you want to do it all in a slow and cycling version, requires 5 – 6 days. The ascents amount to 1,600 meters in altitude which, spread over 300 km, are manageable even for untrained legs. The most suitable bike is the gravel, but also the hybrid or the e-bike.
