In all, he played 333 games in the Nerazzurri shirt, scoring 55 goals and winning three league titles, two European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups. Elegant and precise like an architect (the nickname he was given at the time) Luisito was endowed with great technique, excellent mobility and was able to fish with millimetric casts from forty-fifty meters.
He ended his career as a player at Sampdoria in 1973, then becoming a coach: he led from the bench among the other Inter (for three periods, in 1974/75 then in 1992 and 1995), Cagliari, Spal, Como and the Spanish national team.
