Data analysis to improve circulation in airports, thus contributing to punctuality of air traffic. It is the last frontier ofartificial intelligenceas evidenced by the novelty announced by Rome Airports (AdR)the largest operator on the Peninsula, with almost 50 million people served each year by more than 100 airlines and the Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airports And Ciampino.

The role of the technological platform

The Italian company uses the platform Dynatrace to get travelers through its airports quickly and efficiently. An initiative that joins the other digital systems, used by AdR and integrated with each other, to manage security checks, border control, baggage handling, airside operations and information systems for travellers, such as those used for check-in and travel updates.

The change of pace

Previously, the airport had limited internal visibility into its applications or underlying local and cloud infrastructure. He relied on more system integrator third parties to share information about software performance and its impact on traveler experiences and satisfaction. This approach complicated efforts to quickly resolve issues or optimize experiences. Dynatrace has helped unify the observability and security data from the hybrid cloud environment of Rome airports.

Thanks to’artificial intelligence, the platform allows you to discover the root cause and problems of performance and security vulnerabilities and proactively fix them before they impact travellers. The result is that today 90% of travelers pass security checks within three minutes and ensure punctual arrivals and departures for over 99% of daily flights.

Thanks to these levels of service, Fiumicino Airport has recently been classified as “Best airport in Europe with over 40 million passengers” from Airports Council International (Aci) for the sixth consecutive year. Fiumicino has also received a 5-star airport rating from Skytrax earlier this year, making it the second European airport to achieve this rating.
