Ferrari approved the new parts for the Austrian GP on Tuesday during the Fiorano filming day. The technical office headed by Enrico Cardile, in whom Vasseur confirmed his trust, has accelerated the introduction of the new elements as much as possible. The new fund

The lateral undercut is now slightly widened and tapered by increasing the lateral reach towards the diffuser. It makes sense to have to look for this kind of efficiency after changing aerodynamic direction in Spain, with the search for more downwash that increases rear downforce.

More efficient front wing

The package is completed by a completely revised front wing. Interestingly, the engineers have redesigned all elements of the front wing: main planes, flaps and end plates. The goal of this update is to reduce further aerodynamic structure losses and their impact downstream, along with greater flexibility in aero balance adjustment.
This ensures greater stability in the aerodynamic balance. Ferrari itself has also declared that the new front wing combined with the redesigned floor focuses on the new distribution that allows for a reduction in pressure drops, which translates into an increase in the car’s efficiency when cornering. The technicians expect a clear step forward, the track will have to confirm the good things that came out of the factory.

Pieces produced in record time

It took a lot of effort to produce the new parts in time for the Austrian GP. The only test bench in Friday’s free practice before qualifying. The Red Bull Ring could suit the basic characteristics of the SF-23, strong straight line car and braking. Considering the altitude and layout of the Spielberg track, the Styrian track features 7 braking sections with sharp braking points in which the cars have little braking space to cool down the braking systems, so we expect strong decelerations. On a scale of difficulty from 1 to 5, Brembo classifies this track with a difficulty level of 3. The FIA ​​has confirmed the 3 DRS zones, everyone expects a dry and extremely close qualifying.
