Her civil struggle, which began as a partisan, continued after the war, for gender equality, against the mafia or for the environment. Laura Wronowski died at the age of 99, nephew of Giacomo Matteotti and exemplary figure of freedom fighter and witness of civil society.

Born in Milan in 1924, was the daughter of the editor-in-chief of Corriere Casimiro Wronowski, who left the newspaper after Albertini’s ouster. Their family was entrusted with Matteotti’s children after the assassination of the politician and the death of his widow. Laura entered the Resistance in 1943, at the age of 19, with the nom de guerre Kiki.

Pioneer of Justice and Freedom, she was a relay runner and fighter in the Matteotti Brigades, with her brother Pier Lorenzo. Among her actions, in addition to the missions to identify the launches of the Allies and the attacks against the Nazi-fascists, to remember, in 1944, the liberation of the concentration camp of Calvari (Genoa). After the war, Wronowski continued his action testimony among young people: in a press release, the president of the Anpi of Milan, Roberto Cenati, recalled the call for historical and cultural study.
