The inventor of Facebook and Meta loves martial arts, at the age of 38 he climbed the podium twice, also taking a silver. Fans invite him to challenge Musk (judoka and karateka)

See Mark Zuckerberg wearing a keikogi, the typical jiujitsu uniform, may seem strange, but the founder of Facebook and number one of Meta is actually a valid practitioner, so much so that he even won official UFC competitions, the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

A few days ago in the tournament in Redwood City, California, the billionaire competed in his first competition and won a gold and a silver in the Gi and No-Gi variants, reaching the podium twice. Zuckerberg had already become passionate about this martial art during the pandemic, continuing training with some friends in the following months, but only now, at the age of 38, has he decided to make his debut in the world of competition, with good results. He revealed it himself in a series of photos published on his Instagram profile, in a post in which he thanked his coach Dave Camarillo, a martial arts star who in the past has trained other celebrities, such as actor Keanu Reeves.

Last year Zuckerberg spoke on Joe Rogan’s podcast, voice of the Ufc itself, about how useful martial arts were for him to make the most of his work and to find the ideal concentration. I love them – he said – I introduced them to several friends and now we all train together. Since then he has also been a guest of important national and international tournaments several times, also a close friend of UFC president Dana White.

The reactions of the samples

The post was very successful among fans and many mixed martial arts practitioners, even particularly in the public eye. Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski called him a legend, Brazilian Bernardo Faria, already five times world champion, congratulated him, calling Zuckerberg’s result extraordinary. The Georgian champion Merab Dvalishvili complimented him, publicly asking him to be able to train with him. Even Conor McGregor failed to abstain, commenting congratulations on the results obtained.

Musk is also a martial arts enthusiast

Among the fans there are those who dream of a fight between Zuckerberg and other practitioners of his rank, since both the owner of Twitter Elon Musk (former practitioner of judo, taekwondo and karate), as well as the youtuber Jake Paul (boxing) are fervent enthusiasts. Everyone is asking for a meeting between the entrepreneurs of the internet giants, or maybe with a Hollywood star. There are Christian Bale, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston, Ashton Kutcher and Robert Downey Junior, all enthusiastic about the psychophysical well-being that comes from these disciplines.
