After the mobilization of CSC students and the appeals of directors and actors, from Wim Wenders to Nanni Moretti and Sorrentino
Back off. Currently. The amendment to the Jubilee decree law should have been discussed yesterday in the culture commission, presented in recent days by the deputies of the Lega Igor Iezzi, Simona Bordonali, Laura Ravetto and Alberto Stefani - which aimed to modify the structure and vocation of the institution which, together, film school and national film library, eliminating its top management two years in advance - but was shelved by the government. Suspended but not withdrawn. The stop also came following the mobilization of the students of the Center in permanent garrison since 20 July, and the unconditional support of the big names in Italian cinema, many of them former students or teachers of the school. Directors, actors, editors, directors of photography, producers, screenwriters intervened with a letter in defense of the autonomy of the CSC. We understand and support the agitation put in place by the students due to the possible approval of the amendment proposed in the Jubilee decree which profoundly changes the nature of the CSC, a school which over the years has graduated numerous excellences in the film sector of our country and whose students continue to obtain recognition at festivals around the world... We are baffled by the way in which the amendment is presented, in the middle of summer, during a teaching break, within a decree that should deal with something completely different... We risk repercussions tions on the regular course of teaching and on the activities of the Csc, which among other things in November will host the world congress of film schools, an event on which work has already been going on for some time.
Over six hundred signatories: Matteo Garrone, Nanni Moretti, the Oscar winners Paolo Sorrentino and Gabriele Salvatores, Mario Martone, Roberto And, Gianni Amelio, Marco Bellocchio, Luca Guadagnino, Paola Cortellesi, Valerio Mastandrea, Costanza Quatriglio, Alba Rohrwacher, Valeria Golino, Jasmine Trinca , Francesca Comencini, Paolo Virz, Elio Germano, Emanuele Crialese, Daniele Vicari, Edoardo De Angelis, Saverio Costanzo, Alice Rohrwacher, Domenico Procacci, Domenico Starnone, Angelo Barbagallo, Luca Zingaretti, Luisa Ranieri, Paolo Genovese, Fabrizio Gifuni, Francesca Archibugi, Giorgio Rights, Lino Guanciale, Francesca Calvelli, Walter Fasano, Stefania Rocca, Giancarlo De Cataldo, Carolina Crescentini, Claudia Gerini, Daniele Luchetti, Walter Veltroni, Silvio Muccino, Luca Argentero. A call to mobilization that went as far as Wim Wenders. And at yesterday's stop. Looking forward to further developments.
