Elisa Balsamo graduated in modern literature: the thesis on Testori and cycling

At the University of Turin the 2021 world champion she obtained a three-year degree in Modern and Contemporary Literature with a final score of 102. The 25-year-old from Cuneo from the Trek-Segafredo, reigning Italian champion, discussed the thesis in the History of the Italian language entitled “Languages ​​and variants of ‘The god of Roserio’ by Giovanni Testori”, the Lombard writer’s debut novel, focused precisely on cycling and the challenge between the rising star Dante Pessina and his wingman Sergio Consonni, two imaginary characters who embody two temperaments and two possible variants of human ambition. Testori’s “pictorial, crazy and visionary” language emerges in the novel.

After the ritual toast with her partner Davide Plebani and her family, Elisa Balsamo is already ready to put a number back on her back: on Sunday 2nd April she will be at the start of the Tour of Flanders, on the 8th of Paris-Roubaix, two races perfectly suited to her characteristics.
