The green heart of Turin – Saturday 22 April – comes alive for the first time on the occasion of theEarth Day, the green event that manages to involve the largest number of people around the planet. For the first time Turin enters the official celebrations of World Earth Day coordinates from Earth Day Italy. The day will see the participation of representatives of the Turin institutions, to underline the commitment of the City, nominated among the 100 European cities that will commit to reducing emissions by 2030.

Earth Day Turin 2023 it will be a great party dedicated to the Earth organized and curated by AWorld And Club Silencio with the contribution of Company of San Paolo Foundation as major supporter and will be held in the Royal Horsewoman and in Royal Gardens of Turin with an alternation of workshops and panels related to the themes of Sustainability and ofAgenda 2030; the event will culminate in the great Concert for the Earth, with the participation of numerous Italian artists.

The event, entirely free and carbon neutral – thanks to low-impact set-up choices and the measurement and compensation of emissions by Climate Partner – will wind through moments of in-depth analysis and entertainment, organized in the various areas of the location: Cavallerizza Reale, Playground, Earth Village and Main Stage. All the appointments have been designed to raise public awareness and start a dialogue on the theme of safeguarding the planet: a unique opportunity for sharing, enlivened by the many partners and famous guests involved.

On the occasion of this great appointment, Club Silencio – a cultural association engaged in experiential projects that stimulate the active participation of young people under 35 in cultural, social and democratic life – and AWorld – a platform that guides and encourages people to live sustainably by measuring their carbon footprint and the impact – they joined forces: “We are very happy with this union, working on such a large project of national importance was a challenge but we are proud of the result achieved. We can’t wait for the public to take part in what we have created, effectively giving life to the day, and discovering the objectives of Earth Day Turin 2023. Through the AWorld app from April 3 to 20 will be launched a challenge (collective challenge) with the aim of achieving 10,000 good deeds for the planet in just 17 days. The 50 most active citizens will win access to the exclusive area in front of the stage main stage of the concert. The event will offer many activities dedicated to young people, protagonists in the transition to a more sustainable world. There will also be numerous activities dedicated to adults, with moments of yoga And mindfulness conducted by the association Wake Up!.

L’Earth Village, an area dedicated to the world of dissemination and discussion between all the protagonists of the Change, will see the succession of disseminators, foundations, NGOs, scientists and content creators. Among these, there will also be the Turin International Book Fair, which will propose – in collaboration with AWorld – an exchange of books (part of which is donated by the Fair itself) with the aim of encouraging reading. Furthermore, representing the Book Fair and thanks to the collaboration with the publisher Nottetempo, in the scenario of Royal Museums the well-known anthropologist and essayist will be a guest Eduardo Kohnauthor of “How forests think. For an anthropology beyond the human” (Nottetempo, 2021) in dialogue with the journalist Nicolas Lozito.

The day will be enlivened by various moments, in particular the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation will announce the results of the challenge “Sustainable by nature” activated within the AWorld app to boost achievements by “Sportsmen by Nature”, the tender launched in 2022 to support the sports organizations of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta in the post-pandemic period and to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle combined with environmental protection. The challenge, a digital challenge aimed at creating engagement and stimulating positive competitiveness to generate measurable initiatives, saw the participation of the entities selected by the tender which involved their communities in virtuous actions in favor of the environment. On April 22 there will be a moment dedicated to the awarding of the institution that will have created major engagement and the communication of the actions generated which, to date, have far exceeded the initial target of 100,000.

Earth Day Turin 2023 will also be an opportunity for Conadpremium partner of the initiative, to announce the start of the campaign Let’s forest together Italy 2023 which, in partnership with Rete Clima – a non-profit technical body that supports companies in decarbonisation and sustainability paths – will lead to the planting of 11,000 trees in 11 Italian regions by spring 2024, confirming the brand’s commitment to projects protection of the environment and forests. During the day, artists, musicians, popularizers and influencers will take part in the scheduled activities and panels. During the demonstrations there will also be space for entertainment, the stage will in fact give voice to Massimiliano Loizzi who will entertain the audience with his comedy show The Happy Tour brought to Earth Day Torino 2023 thanks to the collaboration with the Turin Fringe Festival.

Starting at 19:00, Eugene Cesaro (Eugene in Via Di Gioia), will lead together with Anna Olivero (editor in chief of AWorld) the Concert for the Earth. On the Main Stage of Earth Day, inside the Royal Gardens, a special live performance will come to life – free and open to all – which will make the audience dance and sing to the tune of great musicians, all actively engaged in the sustainability issues promoted by Earth Day. On stage they will take turns Saturninus, Marlene Kuntz, Syria, Ensi, Epoque, Frero, Klaus, Leon Faun and many others.
